  Admissions  —  High School Enrichment

High School Enrichment

You can be enrolled in high school and college at the same time

With approval from your high school, you can choose to earn both high school and college credit for courses taken at Bucks. Follow the steps below to get started.

High School Enrichment students can choose from a wide variety of Bucks courses and are able to take courses at any Bucks campus or online.

Information for Parents
We ask that your student take an active part in the steps to enrollment

You can help them by ensuring they follow all of the steps to enrollment. Importantly, the information supplied in these documents is to be the student’s own, including email address and any other particulars necessary for communication. Students in the high school enrichment program are considered college students at Bucks, and the enrollment steps are a great way to "get their feet wet" in the college process.

Information for Guidance Counselors

High school juniors with a 3.25+ cumulative GPA and seniors with a 3.00+ cumulative GPA may be eligible for placement test waivers. If your student requests a transcript, it can be emailed to waivers@bucks.edu.

Steps to enroll in Bucks courses as a high school student

(To be completed by the student)

  1. Apply at www.bucks.edu/apply.
  2. Evaluate skills: all high school enrichment students must complete placement testing or obtain placement test waivers.

    • High school juniors with a 3.25+ cumulative GPA or seniors with a 3.00+ cumulative GPA may be eligible for a placement test waiver. Please request that your high school send your transcript to waivers@bucks.edu so that the waiver can be processed.
      • Please note: depending on GPA and prior math courses, students may still need to take the math placement test. It is recommended that students who have taken courses above Algebra II take the math placement test in order to receive a score that may be more appropriate to their level.
    • All other students must complete math, reading, and writing placement tests online after they apply to Bucks: https://www.bucks.edu/academics/testing/placement/remote/
  3. Select Bucks course(s). Course schedules can be found online at www.bucks.edu/register.
  4. Complete High School Approval Form: www.bucks.edu/HSApproval. Student will receive registration instructions after completed form is processed.
  5. Register and pay for courses.
  6. Buy books and attend your classes!

Notes

  • High School IEPs do not transfer to college studies. Students seeking accommodations should contact The Accessibility Office.
  • Financial Aid is only available for students who have already graduated from high school. To obtain more information about our programs for high school students, contact Admissions.
  • Students who are rising freshmen, or are currently in grades 9 through 10, must take all placement tests prior to enrolling, except if they are enrolling in a 2-credit summer kinesiology course.
  • Students who are in 8th grade or below are not eligible for the high school enrichment program. Students who are not at the appropriate age levels should review the offerings available by our Continuing Education division.
