Pharmacy Technician Program

Start Your Career in Pharmacy

Prepare for an essential role on the healthcare team. Bucks County Community College's comprehensive, 75-hour Pharmacy Technician program provides focused training to help you build the knowledge and skills needed to pursue opportunities in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies, and other pharmacy settings.

Upon successful completion, you'll be eligible to take the national certification exam administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). The PTCB exam fee is not included in course tuition.

Choose the location and schedule that works best for you. Pharmacy Technician is offered in a hybrid format, combining one in-person class and one live online Zoom class each week. Attendance at both weekly sessions is required.

Register for Pharmacy Technician

Funding is available to students who meet eligibility requirements through PA CareerLink®. Eligible participants will receive funding to cover the full cost of program tuition. To determine your eligibility and learn about available funding, contact your county PA CareerLink® office.

Important: Under Pennsylvania Act 140, individuals must successfully complete a board-approved Pharmacy Technician training program before applying to become a registered Pharmacy Technician in Pennsylvania. After successfully completing the course, a background check is also required as part of the state registration process. Please be aware that certain criminal history may affect eligibility for registration.



Pharmacy Technician for Non-Native English Speakers

This preparatory program is designed for intermediate and advanced English language learners (ELL) interested in becoming pharmacy technicians. It is not the Pharmacy Technician training program.
