What kind of student are you?

High School Seniors / Graduates

If you are graduating from high school and starting college for the first time, follow these steps to become a Bucks student.

Step 1: Apply to Bucks

Complete your application for admission to the College.

Step 2: Complete Placement Requirements

Complete any required placement assessments to determine the right starting courses for you.

Step 3: Meet With an Advisor and Register for Classes

Work with an academic advisor to choose your courses and complete registration.

Step 4: Apply for Financial Aid and Pay Your Bill

Submit your financial aid application, review your costs, and complete payment by the deadline.

Currently taking a Bucks course as a high school student?

If you are enrolled in a Bucks course during the spring semester, you do not need to reapply. Complete the Change of Major Form, then continue with Steps 3 and 4.

Adult Learners

At Bucks, you are welcome at every stage of your educational journey. As the community’s college, we offer flexible options to help you build your skills, earn a certificate, or complete a degree.

Whether you are returning to college, changing careers, advancing in your current field, or pursuing a personal goal, Bucks can help you take the next step. Our programs and support services are designed to meet the needs of busy adult learners.

Step 3: Complete Placement Requirements

Complete any required placement assessments or submit qualifying academic records.

Choose your courses and complete registration.

Veterans

You have served our country - now Bucks County Community College can serve you. We are committed to helping our Active Duty, Reserve and Veteran service members, as well as their eligible dependents reach their educational goals. We offer services to assist you in admissions, career services, student life and more.

You might be able to earn credits for what you’ve learned outside the college classroom. Find out how Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) could save you time and money!

Step 1: Apply to the Veterans Administration for approval of benefits.

Step 2: Apply to Bucks
Note: If applying before your eligibility documentation has been received from the VA, print a copy of your application or obtain your documents through .

Step 3: Placement (Assessment) Testing

Step 4: Advising & Priority Registration

Step 5: Financial Aid & Payment

All veterans are encouraged to file for Financial Aid, as you may be eligible for assistance.

Step 6: Complete the Veterans Enrollment Form after registering, which can be submitted online.

High School Dual Enrollment

Step 1. Apply to Bucks

  • Select "High School Dual Enrollment"

Step 2. Take Placement Tests or Submit Waivers

  • For testing waivers, you must be a high school
    • Junior with a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA
    • Senior with a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
  • Send waivers directly from your high school to waivers@bucks.edu.

Step 3. Confirm dual credit eligibility with your high school counselor.

  • If needed, email Dual Enrollment for course options or search offerings online.
  • If you are seeking a degree at Bucks, email Academic Advising about your courses.

Step 4. Submit the Dual Enrollment Intent to Enroll Form

  • A new Dual Enrollment Intent to Enroll form must be submitted each semester. This can be done in Workday Student.

Step 5. Payment

  • Pay your tuition. Dual enrollment is offered at a reduced rate.
  • Fees may vary by course.
International Students

Legal Permanent Residents

If you are a legal permanent resident, submit a copy of your government-issued documentation, such as a green card or other proof of your legal status.

Email your documentation to apply@bucks.edu.

F-1 Visa Students

If you plan to study at Bucks on an F-1 visa, review the International Students page for application requirements and next steps.

F-1 Guest Students

If you hold an F-1 visa through another college or university and want to take a course at Bucks, you must:

  1. Apply to the College using the F-1 International Guest Application.
  2. Submit a copy of your visa.
  3. Request that your international advisor send an approval email to international@bucks.edu.

If you are enrolling in a summer course, you do not need advisor approval.

If you are enrolling in an online course, you must also submit the International Disclaimer.

J-1 Au Pair Students

Bucks offers au pairs the opportunity to meet their visa education requirements by enrolling in noncredit classes.

Guest Students

If you are enrolled at another college or university and want to take courses at Bucks to transfer back to your home institution, you are considered a guest student or nondegree-seeking student.

Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1: Meet With Your Home Institution Advisor

Talk with your advisor at your home college or university to confirm which Bucks courses will meet your transfer requirements.

Step 2: Apply to Bucks

Complete the application process to become a guest student.

Step 3: Complete Your Orientation Requirement

As a guest student, you are exempt from completing New Student Orientation.

Step 4: Submit Prerequisite Waivers, if Needed

If a course requires a prerequisite, you may need to submit a prerequisite waiver before registering.

Step 5: Register for Courses

Once approved, register for your selected courses.

Step 6: Pay Your Bill

Complete payment by the deadline listed on your student account.

If learning in a virtual platform is better for you, Bucks Online has a comprehensive listing of courses and more than 20 programs that can be completed entirely online. Whether you complete your studies at one of our campuses, fully online, or take a hybrid approach, our programs can help you achieve your personal and professional goals.

Incredible Value

Our tuition is more affordable than 4-year institutions, but cheaper doesn’t mean lesser. Saving on your freshmen and sophomore studies provides money to put towards your bachelor’s program completion. Completing the associate’s program or earning a certificate can position you to enter the workforce with little or no debt.
