Languages

Learn a new language in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere, learn to communicate by using simple grammatical structures and useful phrases related to travel, business and more. A dash of culture and current events will be included!

  • Course Level I: For beginners only, for students who have no experience with the language.
  • Course Level II: For students who have completed Course I, or who have a basic knowledge of the language.
  • Course Level III and beyond: For students who have completed Course II, or who have a good understanding of the language.

Sequel courses will continue to be offered as long as there is sufficient interest.

American Sign Language (ASL)

This class is an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL), one of the primary languages used by the Deaf community in the United States. This class is intended for absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of ASL, and will be taught by a Deaf individual. You will be introduced to ASL grammar, Deaf culture, and the history of Deaf culture and ASL.

Book required:  A Basic Course in American Sign Language (Second Edition)
Available on Amazon.  Approx. $40 and used in all levels of ASL.

*This course is Act 48 Approved

Where & When: Newtown Campus 10 Wed, 6/4-8/6 6:30 – 8:30pm

This is the second level of American Sign Language (ASL) classes. This class is intended for beginners with some prior knowledge of ASL – specifically, students who have already taken and passed ASL I or who have been evaluated into this level (in case of students who already have prior knowledge but didn’t take classes with us). In this class, you will continue to learn ASL vocabulary, ASL grammar, Deaf culture, and the history of Deaf culture and ASL. This class is taught by a Deaf individual.

Mandarin Chinese I RLANG-0568-C01
