Free Healthcare Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program
Turn your passion for helping others into a healthcare career. If you enjoy caring for people, Bucks County Community College’s Healthcare Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program is your first step into one of today’s most essential and rewarding fields.
You’ll gain hands-on skills, industry knowledge and career support. Upon successful completion, you’ll be matched with an apprenticeship or placed directly into a healthcare position with average starting salaries of $17-$20/hr.
In partnership with Drexel University’s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program and leading regional hospitals.
What You’ll Gain
In just 12 weeks — plus a phlebotomy externship — you’ll build skills, earn certifications and gain hands-on experience to jump-start your health care career. Our comprehensive curriculum prepares you for entry-level roles and apprenticeships with training in:
- Medical terminology
- Basic anatomy and physiology
- Infection control
- Workplace readiness
You’ll also earn the following certifications:
- Phlebotomy (CPT)
- EKG Technician
- CPR
- Mental Health First Aid
- Mandated Reporter

This training is free for individuals who meet eligibility requirements. The program is funded by the PA Department of Labor.
Program Features
- $6,500 value — free for those who qualify
- 12 weeks of in-person, hands-on training
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Training for entry-level jobs in high demand
- One-on-one job placement support
- Veterans strongly encouraged to apply
Program Requirements
To participate, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or possess a Green Card
- Be a Pennsylvania resident
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Pass a drug screening and background check
- Be able to lift 50 lbs
- Have reliable transportation
- Be ready to work in the healthcare field or enter an apprenticeship

Training takes place at the new Center for Advanced Technologies, 1302 Veterans Highway, Bristol, Pennsylvania.
