BOOSTING IMMUNITY THROUGH GOOD NUTRITION RHEAL 8005 C01

You will learn about good nutrition grounded in evidence-based practices. You will be introduced to the basic food and nutrient groups, their role in body function, the proper amounts required, and ways to incorporate them into the diet. In addition, specific foods will be highlighted for their role in protecting immune function. Dietary supplements and vitamins will also be discussed.
Theresa Prior has taught at the high school and college levels for 25+ years. While raising her children and caring for her aging parents, she realized the critical role of good nutrition in maintaining health. After completing the Didactic Program in Nutrition at LaSalle University, Theresa obtained her Dietetic Technician Registered license. She hopes to share her expertise with community members to promote sound eating habits for well-being and longevity.
MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING WSMCE 9035 C01-C02

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 6-hour training gives adults who work with individuals the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to our youth who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. This course includes teaching about the common signs and symptoms of mental illnesses, how to interact with an adolescent in crisis and how to connect them with the appropriate help. Participants will receive a three (3) year Mental Health FirstAid certification and .60 CEUs upon successful completion.
Details for the course:
First class is 2-hour self-guided while instructor is onsite to assist and answer questions while guiding participates.
Second Class is 4-hours virtual instructor led class.
Cathleen Fillippello has been an educator for the past 27 years. She has taught at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels. Cathleen is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and has been teaching Mental Health Education for the past 10 years. She graduated from The College of New Jersey and immediately began teaching. In 2003, Cathleen obtained her Masters of Education Degree (Educational Leadership) from Rider University. Inspired by the need for mental health education in local communities, she is committed to making a difference and educating all community members one by one.
