Follow these steps to get started with ESL at Bucks County Community College.

  1. Placement Test – First, you must take the online placement test. Only take this test one time and by yourself. There is no charge to take the ESL Placement Test.

  2. Interview – After you complete the placement test, we will schedule an interview with you.
  3. Register – Register for classes. View our online ESL Registration Process. Online registration must be paid in full with a credit card. To register by cash or check, please visit our office. In order to hold your spot, you must pay in full at time of registration. Classes are not free and financial aid, grants and scholarships are not available for any ESL college courses.

  4. Order Textbooks – Review your course registration confirmation sent to your email for book information and a link to purchase.



Associate Degree, Credit Classes & Certificate Programs

Students interested in advancing their education or pursuing a degree can begin with non-credit classes to improve their English. Bucks County Community College also offers credit AESL classes for those students interested in obtaining an associate degree, credits or a certificate. For information on our credit classes, call 215-968-8018 or email aeslcoordinator@bucks.edu.

Refund Policy

Student withdrawal from enrollment and non-credit ESL course refund procedure: In the event that a course is cancelled by the College (usually because of low enrollment), every attempt will be made to enroll you in another course or a full refund of your tuition will be issued. There is a $35 non-refundable withdrawal charge if you cancel your enrollment in a course. Your request must be received by phone or in person five (5) working days prior to the course starting date in order to receive a refund minus the cancellation fee. Course refunds will not be made after the start of a class. Transfers are only permitted under instructor recommendation and before the third class begins. Transfers are not permitted in any other circumstance.
