Pharmacy Technician Comprehensive (75 hours)
This 75-hour Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program provides students with foundational knowledge and skills for entry-level Pharmacy Technician opportunities and prepares students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE).
Throughout the program, students will study key topics related to pharmacy practice, including:
- Medical and pharmacy terminology
- Reading and interpreting prescriptions
- Brand-name and generic medications
- The top 200 commonly prescribed medications
- Pharmacy mathematics and dosage calculations
- Prescription processing
- Medication safety
- Pharmacy inventory and medication storage
- Insurance billing and reimbursement
- Pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional practices
Students will also develop an understanding of the Pharmacy Technician's role in supporting pharmacists and promoting safe and accurate medication practices.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be prepared to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). The certification fee is not included in the course tuition.
