Proctored Testing for Bucks Online
Online classes may require that students take exams in a secure, proctored environment. If proctored testing is required in an online class, students are responsible for planning their schedules accordingly within the time frame of the exam dates as stated in the Faculty Syllabus. Be sure to review the proctoring tutorials for scheduling and taking exams provided by your instructor.
Online test proctoring software
Online test proctoring will be required through the Respondus Lockdown Browser and/or ProctorU as determined by the instructor.
Respondus Lockdown
Respondus Lockdown requires a download of their licensed software and the institution's licensed browser to your computer. Learn more about the computer requirements for installations of Respondus LockDown Browser.
ProctorU
ProctorU is an online proctoring service. ProctorU requires an up-to-date computer operating system. You will need to download the Guardian Browser for Live+ proctoring. Learn more about the equipment requirements for ProctorU.
Testing Centers
If you do not have the ability to adhere to the technical specifications of an online proctoring platform, you must get approval of the faculty member to utilize the Bucks County Community College Testing Center in Newtown, PA or an alternative proctoring center.
The specific days and hours for testing services at the Newtown campus varies by semester. For more information regarding proctored testing at the Newtown campus, visit the Testing Center webpage. Please review the Statement on Appropriate Behavior During a Test issued by the Testing Center.
Alternative testing locations may be approved for those unable to travel to the Testing Center, but all in-person testing must occur within the United States. Please review the Alternative Proctored Testing information for details.
