About the HELP Center: United Way of Bucks County provides food, home goods, cleaning supplies, and other essential items free of charge to people in our community who need assistance. The Associate will work 12 - 18 hours day time hr/week on Monday’s Tuesdays and Fridays.
Qualifications:

• Must be a student registered at an accredited college/university
The HELP Center Position will help the student build a better understanding of all facets of nonprofit leadership.

United Way of Bucks County is looking for a reliable and committed team member to provide support at the HELP Center in Bristol Borough. Preference will be made for individuals who are available to work with us for the Fall and Spring Semester 2023-2024. Our HELP Center Associate is responsible for managing and monitoring inventory, assisting clients and Member Agencies with shopping and pick-ups, assisting United Way of Bucks County staff with product distribution and volunteer management, and coordinating aspects of building use with our partners.
Primary responsibilities:
• Manage and monitor inventory to ensure quick distribution to the community.
• Pick-up or receive, load, deliver, and unload program supplies and donations as needed.
• Welcome and help all Member Agencies and clients picking up items at the HELP Center.
• Work with United Way of Bucks County staff and volunteers; ensure all feel welcome and understand the value of the HELP Center.
• Manage all paperwork in a highly organized way.
• Ensure that facilities are clean, organized, and safe for program operations. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
• Must be a confident self-starter with an interest in community service and be a strong leader and manager.
• Must have exceptional organizational, follow-up, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Preference for a college student with an interest in understanding how nonprofits operate
• Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with program partners, donors, staff, and volunteers in a courteous manner.
• Must be able to organize a variety of tasks, meet deadlines, define problems, and pay attention to details.
Physical Requirements:
• Sorting, packing, stocking, loading, and unloading, including items up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally assisting in projects which may include painting, drilling, or hammering.
• Ability to help with basic general maintenance of HELP Center, including moving, sweeping, and stocking
• Ability to twist, pull, push, lift (up to 50 lbs.), bend, squat, climb, walk, stand, sit for extended periods.
• Use of pallet jack, stacker, and/or forklift (with proper training).
Position Information & Application Requirements
• Associate will work approximately 12-18 hours per week. This may require onsite and offsite work, and scheduling may be flexible.
