Your children will work as cast and crew teams in this cool camp. Kids learn basic levels of acting, directing, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Each day is different as they create projects as commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. Does your child dream of what it’s like to be behind the microphone, performing like their favorite singer? Well, here's their chance! Students will have a blast developing their skills in songwriting, music recording, voice-overs, and audio equipment operation. Students can work interchangeably as talent and/or crew, behind the scenes or behind the microphone. They will learn vocal warm up routines, perform voice-overs and TV/radio announcements, have a blast singing karaoke to their favorite songs, and the best part is they will have the unique opportunity to create their very own song from start to finish and record it live. Students will produce a song from beginning to end and have a copy of that song to share with friends and family for years to come. Students will receive one professionally edited audio CD that contains all of their camp recordings for the week.
The Great Debaters RCHYC 6016 C01
Students learn different types of debate forms (Lincoln-Douglas, Parliamentary, etc.) as well as how to research, validate and present their positions in order to be successful in the debate process. Over the course of the week they will be taught/practice persuasive speaking, skills, as they learn the different techniques of debate. On the last day of camp, the students debate their topics in front of an audience (parents, etc.)

Take the first steps into the world of mobile app design and customize your own game app! Using a specialized app & game development tool, students will explore the world of web-based (HTML5) mobile apps. In addition to learning the basics of mobile app design and game development, you will also see firsthand how the world of App publishing functions. Student-created apps will be accessible on a private site and can be played on any mobile device or computer. Publishing to App Stores not included. Students do not need to own a smartphone or tablet to take this class. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years.
eSports Apprentice - Streamers and Gamers
Whether you want to be the next pro gamer, streamer, or gamecaster this course will teach you the basics to get started! No longer just a hobby, eSports is the fastest-growing career for the next generation. Over 400 million people watched YouTube videos and Twitch streams of video game competitions this year alone! In this course, students will develop game-play skills and compete using Black Rocket’s eSports games and apps, learn how to produce commentary for live tournaments, use professional streaming software, and most importantly practice online safety. Inspired by the TV show Project Runway this camp is for inspiring young designers who love fashion. Campers will learn about color, fabric, styling, mixing and matching outfits and how to redesign existing garments. Rocketry

Do you have an energetic performer in your household? Perhaps an aspiring choreographer or a video camera enthusiast? This program brings together a fun team that will work in unison performing with exciting music videos. In this camp your child will immerse themselves in music interpretation, creating a storyline, developing movement and/or dance routines for their favorite music videos. First, campers start their project with writing the storyline of that day’s music video. Next, they decide on the set (cool locations at the college). Finally, they are ready for choreographing and rehearsing the music video. Several music videos will be created over the course of the week. For camera enthusiasts, they will be planning, setting up/blocking and capturing many cool shots. Camper can take turns in front or behind the camera. Students can participate in eSports League races against other schools across the country with a chance to have their tracks featured in the Black Rocket master build of the game! This camp is perfect for the aspiring young ‘actors’ in your household. It is here they will learn real auditioning skills by working with scripts for commercials and film readings. Your child will learn how to personalize characters and follow direction, block for camera and read with their ‘co-stars’. Voice over will also be introduced. Improvisation and ad-libbing (off the script) will be taught as a basis of making acting choices and trusting their instincts. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading skills and confidence. Students learn trial skills such as opening statements, closing argument, direct and cross examination of witnesses, how to get things into evidence. They role play as attorneys and as witnesses and the week culminates in a Mock Trial for a Jury of their families, friends and other students.

Designed for the older camper with a serious interest in Musical Theatre. This is an active participation program taught by theatre professionals. Campers will work towards becoming "Triple Threat" performers in acting, singing and dancing. There will be a scored audition process followed by putting a show together from beginning to end. Camper will learn valuable life skills such as public speaking. Campers will perform in a full musical on the final Friday afternoon of camp for family and friends.

If you love playing video games, this is the camp for you! Make your first video game in this one-of-a-kind class that shows you the keys to designing your first 2D platformer game. Mock Trial 2 RCHYC 5725 C01
Students will use the basic trial skills that they learned in Mock Trial I and add to them, by learning how to qualify an expert and how to introduce archival documents into evidence. They will research the historical topic selected for the trial and will write witness statements for each witness as well as for an " expert," historian. On the last day of camp, they will present the trial to a jury. (EX: Thomas Jefferson was tried for hypocrisy. Witnesses included: James Callendar, Sally Hemmings, Martha Jefferson Randolph, and James Madison, aside from an historical expert for both sides. In 2017 and again in 2019, the students did the retrial of Sacco and Vanzetti, including ballistics experts for both sides; fact witnesses and of course, the defendants)

The Drones are here! Let the battles begin. In this hands-on, interactive class you will learn how to safely fly drone robots. Working in teams, you will be able to code your drone to compete in missions that will prepare you for the ultimate team challenge at the end of the week. YouTube® Content Creators
Find your voice and leave your mark on the world! Whether you are six or sixty, it’s time to start a career as the next YouTube star. Explore the variety of content and personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche. Learn the Dos and Don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship.
