Free HVAC Technician Training
Are you mechanically inclined and ready to start a new career? The HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) Technician Training Program at Bucks County Community College provides hands-on experience in a modern training facility in Bristol, Pennsylvania.
With growing demand for skilled HVAC technicians, Bucks connects you directly with local employers to help you land a job—fast. Starting wages typically range from $19 to $24 per hour and include benefits.
The program is grant-funded and tuition-free for those who qualify.
What You’ll Learn
The 288-hour HVAC Training Program includes classroom theory and hands-on skills development. You’ll be introduced to the core concepts and technical skills needed to work in the HVAC industry.
Courses are taught by experienced professionals and cover:
- Safety
- Shop math
- Electrical concepts
- Heating, ventilation, and refrigeration fundamentals
- Installation and maintenance practices
- U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Industrial Assessment Center (ITAC) Energy Efficiency Training
- Blueprint reading
You’ll also earn the following industry-recognized certifications:
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 608
- North American Technician Excellence (NATE)
Program Highlights
- Free for those who meet grant and program eligibility (training valued at $6,500)
- 12-week, in-person program
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Training for high-demand, entry-level jobs
- One-on-one job placement support
- Company tours and networking opportunities
- Veterans strongly encouraged to apply
Training takes place at the Center for Advanced Technologies, 1302 Veterans Highway, Bristol, PA.
Program Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or possess a Green Card
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be 18 years or older
- Pass a drug screening, background check (case-by-case), physical, and electro-mechanical aptitude test
- Have reliable transportation
- Be ready and willing to begin work in HVAC
