Course Offerings
Expert instructors will help you build a strong foundation in electrical principles and hands-on practice. You will learn about circuits, safety procedures, and how to use industry-standard tools and equipment. Classes and information sessions take place at the Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT) at the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks in Bristol, Pennsylvania.
Tuition is $2,200 for each 66-hour course. Payment is due at the time of registration by credit or debit card.

Information Sessions
Level 1
- Feb. 5 at 5 p.m.

Training Entry Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Prerequisites for levels 2 or 3
- Take Level 1 or test into the next level
- Interview/test for ability to perform safely and competently in an electrical lab

Level 1: Basic Electricity-AC/DC Circuits
Explore the basic concepts of electricity used in many applications.
Topics include:
- Electrical safety
- Electrical circuit components
- Input and output devices
- Basic measurements of voltage, resistance and current in series and parallel circuits
- Ohm’s Law & Kirchhoff’s Law
- Power in series and parallel circuits, circuit protection devices
- How to select, connect, troubleshoot transformers
- Hands on wiring:
- Romex
- MC Cable
- EMT (electrical mechanical tubing)
- Learn how to install residential and commercial wiring systems as well as the theory behind each.
Level 2: Electrical Relay Control & PLCs
Geared for industrial and commercial installation, you'll learn the fundamental concepts and hands-on skills of Electrical Relay Control and Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs).
Topics include:
- Control logic and sequencing control
- Timers and advanced systems
- Function of a PLC
- Operation of basic PLC logic elements
- Operation of the PLC and how it’s programming language works
- Enter, edit, store PLC programs using PLC software
- How the PLC is programmed to control electric motor applications
- Demonstrate how to add comments, copy, paste
- Interface a number of common I/0 devices and test this interfacing
- Perform tests on the PLC components to learn where failures can occur
- Tell how a component is good or bad
- Gain knowledge to design, program and operate the PLC to control a number of process applications
- Wiring Relays and motors/lights
Level 3: Electrical Motor Controls
Geared for industrial and commercial installation, you'll learn the fundamental concepts and skills required by technicians in various industries.
Topics include:
- Introduction to electric motor control
- Manual motor control & overload protection
- Control transformers
- Control ladder logic
- Control relays & motor starters
- Introduction to troubleshooting, systems troubleshooting, reversing motor control
- Automatic input devices
- Basic timer control: on-delay and off-delay
- Wiring 3 phase motor
- Reversing motors Stop/Start
