Frequently Asked Questions

What can I do in Workday Student?

Workday Student will provide a more personalized experience with real-time, accurate information to better support you.

With Workday Student, you will be able to:

  • Register for courses
  • View financial aid awards
  • Update personal information
  • Check final course grades
  • Manage tuition payments
  • Access your student account via a mobile app
Why are we switching to Workday Student?

The former student information system, Colleague Self-Service, was developed more than 30 years ago and no longer meets the College’s needs.

Workday Student will replace Colleague Self-Service (or Student Planning) starting with Fall 2025 course registration. This modern, cloud-based system enhances data security and provides advanced analytics to better support students.

Will I use Workday Student to register for Spring 2026 classes?

Yes! Course registration for Spring 2026 will take place in Workday Student. Spring registration opens for all students on Monday, Oct. 27.

Where can I find Workday Student?

When you log in to your MyBucks account using the College's single sign-on (SSO), you will see an icon for Workday Student.

Why am I seeing tasks when I first log in to Workday Student? Do I need to complete them?

The tasks that appear in your Workday Student account are your onboarding items. All students will have items listed in the Awaiting Your Action (My Tasks) area of Workday.

Please review the tasks assigned to you and complete them as required.

  • Choose the "Start Date" and select "OK"
  • Name the schedule

Student Accounts + Billing

How will I know when my tuition bill is available?

An email notification will be sent to your Bucks account (@live.bucks.edu) when your tuition bill is ready.

Is the payment schedule changing with Workday Student?

Yes, the payment schedule changed slightly with Fall 2025 registration. You will no longer receive your billing statement immediately following registration. Instead, you will receive your tuition billing statement the day after registering in Workday.

Once you receive your bill, you will have seven (7) days to either:

  • Pay your tuition.
  • Enroll in a payment plan.
  • Provide support showing an alternate means of paying your balance (i.e. financial aid award, 529 plan payment, employer sponsorship).

After the seven (7) day grace period, you will be dropped from your courses for non-payment.

For questions regarding alternative payment options, please contact the Student Accounts Office at accounts@bucks.edu or 215-968-8035.

I have a hold on my account for a past due balance. Where can I find this information?

Past due balance information through the Summer 2025 session will be available in your Student Planning/Self-Service account until October 2025. If you have a past due balance, you cannot register in Workday until the balance is paid.

Financial Aid

Will I be notified when my financial aid package is available in Workday?

You will receive a text message and an email from the Financial Aid Office when your financial aid package is available in Workday Student.

We’ll also share instructions for any steps you’ll need to take in Workday Student for your financial aid.

You will be notified of:

  1. Your responsibilities as a financial aid recipient, and
  2. How our financial aid procedures have changed for this year.
What are the steps needed for financial aid in Workday?
  1. Award Offers – You are required to accept or decline all awards listed on your financial aid offer.
  2. Loans Listed on the Award Offer – If your financial aid offer includes a Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan, Workday Student will automatically add it to your award package. If you do not have sufficient grant assistance, you may choose to accept the loan.
    • Note: Only borrow what you need to cover your educational expenses. Loans must be repaid with interest and fees.
  3. Steps to Receive a Loan – To receive loan funds, you must complete the following three steps:
    1. Master Promissory Note (MPN): This is your legal agreement to repay the loan. A new MPN must be completed for loan processing.
    2. Entrance Counseling Session: This ensures you understand your responsibilities as a borrower.
    3. Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment Form
All three requirements must be completed through the Federal Student Aid website before loan funds will be released to the college. Failure to complete any of these steps could delay your aid and may require you to make a payment to hold your course registration.
  4. Declining Your Loan – If you do not wish to borrow loan funds, you may decline the loan in your award offer.
  5. Missing Documents – To avoid delays in your financial aid processing, make sure all required documents and steps are completed. In Workday, look for the "Awaiting Your Action" box, which will notify you of any missing items.
    • In Workday, navigate to "My Tasks"
    • Follow the instructions for each action item. Some tasks may direct you to external websites, require forms to be completed, or ask you to upload documents. Please read all instructions carefully.
Is my Spring and Summer 2025 financial aid moving to Workday?

No, your Spring and Summer 2025 financial aid will remain in our current system, Student Planning/Self-Service.

Financial aid will move to Workday Student beginning with the Fall 2025 semester.

Financial activity for Fall 2025 and all future semesters (e.g. Winter 2025, Spring 2026, etc.) will be calculated by, stored in and delivered through Workday Student.

Work-study + Workday

I’m a work-study student and already use Workday. Does this update to Workday Student change how I use the platform?

The short answer is no. You will continue to use Workday to access your My Time and My Pay for work-study. Beginning with Fall 2025 registration, you will also use Workday for course enrollment and student account management.
