What made you want to become an instructor?
I became an instructor because I wanted to give back to the rescue community and help others stay safe. Throughout my career as a firefighter, I’ve seen how critical proper training is—both for responders and for the people they’re helping. Teaching allows me to share real-world experience and make sure the next generation of rescuers is well-prepared, confident, and ready to act when it matters most.

If you could share one piece of advice with businesses and their employees to maximize their training experience, what would it be?
Come into training with an open mind and treat it like it could save someone’s life—because one day, it just might. The more you engage, ask questions, and practice like it’s real, the more confident and capable you’ll be when it counts. Training isn’t just a checkbox; it’s an investment in safety, teamwork, and readiness.

What are your hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work and training, my time is dedicated to my family. I have a very supportive wife and three beautiful children. Most of my free time revolves around their activities—especially their sports—and being present for the moments that matter. Everything I do is rooted in helping them grow, learn, and become the best versions of themselves. They’re my biggest motivation both on and off the job.
