Amazon and Bucks Partner with a Focus on the Future
Amazon’s investment will create at least 1,250 high-paying, high-tech jobs. Falls Township, Bucks County has been identified as one of the sites for the future campuses.
Under the lead of the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges (PACCC), four institutions are joining forces to address workforce needs during the construction of the hyperscale data centers and jobs needed once they are built. The PACCC collaboration will create the Technology and Trades Workforce Consortium consisting of Bucks, Northampton, Lehigh Carbon, and Luzerne County Community Colleges to meet the regional workforce needs.
Three pillars planned by the new Technology and Trades Workforce Consortium are:
- Career & Technology Academy
- Micro-Credential Academy
- Construction & Trade Pre-Apprenticeship Academy
