- Have a valid in-state or out-of-state driver's license (Class C).
- Be 18 years old (to drive in-state) or 21 years old (to drive out of state).
- Understand, read, and speak basic English.
- Provide a 3-year driving history record.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Participants must also complete the Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and physical.
- A valid CDL permit is required before the second week of class.
- Required documents: 2 proofs of residence, birth certificate or evidence of lawful presence, social security card, high school diploma or GED.

Thinking about a career in the trucking industry? The Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Training Program at Bucks County Community College can get you on the road to a rewarding new career in as little as five weeks.
All training takes place at the Gene and Marlene Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks in Bristol, PA. Our experienced instructors provide hands-on guidance through classroom instruction, driving range practice, and on-the-road training. You’ll develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge you need to pass your Class A CDL exam and begin your career as a professional driver.
After completing the program, you’ll be prepared for entry-level employment with reputable carriers. Many of our employer partners offer additional in-house training, and local opportunities are available for qualified graduates.
