VII. Required Course Content and Direction

Cooperative Education is a three-credit course which provides the full or part-time student with an opportunity to put into practice, while on the job, the theory and skills developed in the classroom.

The Cooperative Education Coordinator will attempt to place all eligible applicants into positions related to their field of study. At the same time, the student is advised to seek employment acceptable for the program. A position is not guaranteed by acceptance into the Cooperative Education course.

If the student is already working in a field directly related to his/her academic study and/or career aspiration, and the immediate job supervisor can provide an additional experience which will broaden or enhance the student's performance and understanding, it may be possible to accept this position into the Cooperative Education program. The Cooperative Education Coordinator or Departmental Dean will have the final authority to grant this permission.
