Aleks Math Placement Retest
Information on your ALEKS score is available at the bottom of this page. If you are not happy with your math placement score, you can remediate in ALEKS and retest. By increasing your Math placement score, you can possibly save time and money by skipping Math classes!
If You are Interested in Testing into a Higher Placement Level
If you tested on or after May 20, 2020, you tested through our ALEKS program. Your ALEKS account has built-in retest opportunities. You have access to your ALEKS account for 12 months from your first test, and you can retest up to 4 times with your ALEKS account.
What if I tested before May 20, 2020, or my ALEKS account has expired?
If you tested before May 20, 2020, or your ALEKS account has expired, please contact the Testing Center at testing@bucks.edu for assistance.
How Do ALEKS Retests Work?
Your first test in ALEKS sets your baseline in the program so that it knows what topics you already have mastered. If you haven’t already, when you sign back into ALEKS, you will be asked what class you’re trying to take. ALEKS will then give you a Learning Module that covers the material between what you know and what you’re trying to test up to.
A cool-off period and remediation in your Learning Module may be necessary to unlock the retests. Remember: These are minimum time periods. You have access to your account for 12 months from your first test, so you can set your own pace and spend more time studying and practicing in the Learning Module if you desire.
Please refer to the chart below for the minimum cool off and remediation to unlock each test.

How do I Access the ALEKS Learning Modules?
Please refer to the attached ALEKS Learning Modules document for information on how to access and navigate the ALEKS Learning Modules.
Can I Change My ALEKS Learning Module?
No, you may only use one Prep and Learning Module. If you are unsure which module to select, use the module recommended by ALEKS.
Does Progress in an ALEKS Prep and Learning Module Count Toward a Math Placement Change?
No, you must complete a new placement assessment to change your placement result.
What are ALEKS Progress Assessments?
While working in a Prep and Learning Module, you will periodically complete progress assessments to solidify your gains in knowledge. This assessment is NOT the same as a placement assessment.
How Do I Take the Retests?
After you complete the required cool-off period and remediation, you will unlock a retest. You can check in your ALEKS dashboard if the next attempt is unlocked. You must retest in the same method that you completed your first ALEKS assessment. If you tested remotely, you must test remotely. If you tested in-person in the Testing Center, you must return to the Testing Center for your next attempt.
For students required to test in person, please check our Placement Test Schedule.
Do I Need to Take the Retest as Soon as I Unlock It?
No. You can spend more than the minimum time studying in the Learning Module. The Learning Modules and remediation are to help you master the material. You have access to the account for 12 months from the first test, so you can set your own pace and spend more time studying and practicing in the Learning Module if you desire.
What if I Placed into the Class I Wanted?
Congratulations! You can continue to use your Prep and Learning Module to improve your chances for success in that course. The placement result is the minimum preparation required for your course. Take advantage of the targeted review and learning features in ALEKS to get a better grade in your class.
