Legacy Scholarships
Legacy Scholarships are one three-credit course scholarships (tuition only) or non-credit equivalents endowed in perpetuity. These scholarships are awarded to students with a range of achievements in many fields chosen annually according to criteria proposed by the College's academic departments and student clubs and organizations. Arthur E. Landy Memorial Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a student who majors in cinema/video.
Barbara W. Wishnow Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a student who has successfully completed READ090: Introduction to College Reading and COMP090: Basic Writing and who is now taking courses in his or her academic major. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 at the time of selection.
Beverly Foss Stoughton Memorial Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a student who is currently enrolled (minimum of three (3) credits) at BCCC in a credit or non-credit program. Applicants must submit a portfolio of work, consisting of no less than 15 poems, and an essay expressing their commitment to poetry.
Catherine McElroy Business Studies Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time student, enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credits in any program in BCCC’s Department of Business Studies. The recipient will have a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of selection.
Dr. Allen Hoey Memorial Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a BCCC student who specializes in the writing of fiction. Applicants must be enrolled at least part time (minimum of three (3) credits) and intend to return to BCCC in the following academic year after the award is made to enroll in a minimum of three credits. There is no minimum grade point average required.
Eugene Ferri Memorial Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a BCCC student who majors in biology.
Ida LaSalle Memorial Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a BCCC student who demonstrates a strong commitment to community service. This scholarship is named after Ida LaSalle who passed away on November 8, 1998. The beloved alumna was a member of BCCC's Cultural Diversity Club, Faith Hope and Charity Club, and the Human Rights Club.
Joan Weiss Memorial Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a student enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits, and majoring in a program in BCCC’s Department of Business Studies. The student must be interested in the topic of advertising, marketing/selling and/or public relations and planning to take future coursework in one of these areas. The student must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average at the time of selection. Preference is given to students who have had or presently have cancer.
John Bradley Honorary Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a student who has successfully completed one or more developmental courses (reading, writing, and/or mathematics), majoring in any program in one of the College’s academic departments. The student must be enrolled at least part-time (minimum of three (3) credits), and intend to return to BCCC in the following academic year after the award is made and enroll in a minimum of three (3) credits. There is no minimum grade point average required to apply.
Katherine Sell Memorial Education Studies Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time (minimum of twelve (12) credits) Lower Bucks Campus student who is majoring in education and aspires to work with special needs children. The recipient will have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of selection.
The Kopper Kettle Scholarship in memory of Doris C. Greene
Awarded to a Lower Bucks County high school graduate and resident who is enrolled in BCCC's Chef Apprenticeship Program and has worked or is currently working in the food service industry. The recipient will have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of selection.
Lady Gray Memorial Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to students who have a mobility disability and, at the time of application, receive services from BCCC’s Accessibility Office. Applicants must have distinguished themselves by proving their motivation for self improvement and/or personal growth.
Northampton Township Historical Society Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to students enrolled in BCCC’s Historic Preservation Certificate Program. At the time of application, applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits at BCCC and maintain a 3.0 grade-point average or better. Applicants must be Bucks County residents, with preference given to students who reside in Northampton Township. In addition, applicants must submit a 500-word essay, describing the relevance and value of historic preservation in Bucks County, Pa. Applicants must intend to return to BCCC and enroll in a minimum of 6 credits in BCCC’s Historic Preservation Certificate Program.
Ray Reilly Memorial Legacy Scholarship
Awarded to students who have achieved excellence in courses offered by the BCCC’s Department of Language and Literature, and have done so despite difficult obstacles. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a minimum of three credits in a credit or non-credit program at BCCC. In addition, applicants must have attended the College during the previous academic year and must intend to return to BCCC in the following academic year after the award is made and enroll in a minimum of three credits.
