The Practical Nursing Program is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm, and runs for twelve consecutive months beginning every July. This is a non-credit certificate program. Successful completion of all courses listed in the curriculum is required in order to graduate and receive your Certificate of Completion and be eligible for the NCLEX licensure examination. Courses taken at another institution may not be transferred to this program. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be a high school graduate or GED certificate holder. There are no course prerequisites.
The first step in the admission process (Phase I) is to complete the free college application at www.bucks.edu/apply . Note: When completing the application, under ‘Major to which you seek Admission’, indicate your academic major as “Health Sciences” ~ Code Number 1108.
Once you have completed your college application, you will then register to take a pre-entrance exam. Our program uses the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS®). This test measures basic essential skills of reading, mathematics, science, English and language usage. Visit www.bucks.edu/practical for detail information on how to prepare and register for the TEAS.
The test is intended for use primarily with adult health science program applicants. The objectives assessed on ATI TEAS® are those which health educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry-level academic readiness of health science program applicants.
