Community+ Clarifications and Exclusions
Community+ provides access to a wide variety of eligible personal enrichment and special interest courses at Bucks County Community College. Because our noncredit offerings also include professional training, certificate programs, youth programs, and other specialized courses, not every Bucks noncredit course is eligible for Community+ benefits.
Use the information below to better understand which courses qualify.
Standard Courses
Standard courses make up the majority of courses available through Community+.
These are eligible personal enrichment and special interest courses that can be used as an included course selection with either:
- Community+ Core: 4 included Standard courses
- Community+ Plus: 6 included Standard courses
Standard offerings may include courses in areas such as:
- Arts and creativity
- Music
- Writing
- History and culture
- World languages
- Wellness and recreation
- Technology and AI
- Home and lifestyle
- Other eligible personal enrichment and special interest topics
Course eligibility is determined by Bucks County Community College and may vary by offering.
Premium Courses
Some eligible personal enrichment and special interest courses are designated as Premium courses based on tuition, format, instructional costs, or other program considerations.
Premium courses are not included as Standard course selections.
Community+ Plus members may use their one Premium Upgrade to apply one of their six included course selections toward one eligible Premium course and pay the additional tuition amount.
Core and Plus members may also use their one-time 25% additional-course discount toward an eligible Premium course.
Premium course designations may vary from semester to semester.
Materials & Supply Costs
Materials and supplies are not covered by Community+ membership benefits.
Members are responsible for required materials, supplies, kits, or other course-specific costs, even when those costs are included in the course's advertised price.
Any applicable Community+ materials or supply cost will be provided before registration.
Programs Excluded from Community+
Community+ is designed for personal enrichment and special interest courses and offerings. The following types of programs are generally excluded from Community+ membership benefits:
- Career training and workforce programs
- Certificate and professional certification programs
- Professional development programs
- Test preparation
- Youth, children's, and homeschool programs
- Specialized career technology and cybersecurity training
- Partner-provided online programs
- Other courses or programs specifically designated as excluded
Examples may include CDL training, Esthetics, Locomotive Engineer & Conductor Basic Training, healthcare and certification training, professional credentials, and other career-focused programs.
Excluded programs cannot be used as an included course selection, Premium Upgrade, or 25% discounted course.
Partner & Online Programs
Courses and programs offered through external training partners are generally not eligible for Community+ benefits.
This includes programs offered through partners such as Ed2Go, LERN/UGotClass, and Construction Experts, as well as other designated third-party training providers.
How Do I Know if a Course Is Eligible?
Community+ eligibility is based on the type of course first, not simply its tuition.
A lower-priced course is not automatically a Standard course, and a higher-priced course is not automatically a Premium course. Career training, professional development, certification, and other excluded programs remain excluded regardless of price.
If you're unsure whether a course qualifies, please contact us before registering. We'll be happy to confirm whether it is Standard, Premium, or excluded and let you know about any applicable materials or supply costs.
