Honors@Bucks Sample Course Sequence

First-Semester Courses (all majors) – 12-16 credits total

2-3 OF THE FOLLOWING DEDICATED-HONORS COURSES:

  • Composition—Ex: COMP110H 3 credits
  • Math—Ex: MATH120H or MATH115H 3/4 credits
  • Social/Behavioral Science—Ex: PSYC110H 3 credits

+ 2-3 NON-HONORS COURSES to fulfill major and/or gen-ed requirements, or to explore potential major areas.

Second-Semester Courses (all majors)

2-3 OF THE FOLLOWING DEDICATED-HONORS COURSES:

  • Composition—Ex: COMP111H 3 credits
  • History or Humanities—Ex: HIST151H or HUMN114H 3 credits
  • Lab Science—Ex: BIOL101H 4 credits
  • Honors-by-contract course—Ex: MGMT230 3 credits
  • Any other dedicated-honors course offered but not already taken (see above).

+ 2-3 NON-HONORS COURSES to fulfill major, gen-ed, and/or other requirements.

Third-Semester Courses

1-2 honors-by-contract courses at student request/teacher discretion or additional dedicated-honors sections.

+ NON-HONORS COURSES to fulfill major, gen-ed, and/or other requirements and carry full-time load.

Fourth-Semester Courses

1-2 honors-by-contract courses at student request/teacher discretion or additional dedicated-honors sections.

+ NON-HONORS COURSES to fulfill major, gen-ed, and/or other requirements and carry full-time load.

TOTAL for associate degree with honors: Minimum 6 honors courses, at least 3 of them dedicated-honors.

NOTE: Honors students should, generally speaking, follow the same course sequence as non-honors students in their major. Also, no honors student will be permitted to do by-contract coursework until s/he has successfully completed at least one dedicated-honors course.
