An honors-by-contract section is a "regular" Bucks class in which the Honors@Bucks student enters into a private contract with the instructor to engage in additional advanced studies appropriate for honors-level work. Successful completion of the contract converts the course into one shown as an honors course on the student transcript.
Honors contracts are facilitated by the Honors@Bucks coordinator and should be arranged at the end of the semester preceding that in which the contract will be in effect. Contracts must be finalized and submitted for Honors Council approval by the end of the drop-add period of the semester in which the contract is in effect.
Honors@Bucks students must complete at least one dedicated-honors course before beginning by-contract work.
Generally speaking, an Honors@Bucks student may not forge a contract in a course being offered in dedicated-honors format that same semester.
Please note that honors contracts are not available for one- and two-credit courses—nor are they available for studio-based fine-arts courses (e.g. VAFA100: Drawing Fundamentals).
If you're a current Honors@Bucks student interested in arranging contracts for an upcoming semester, please contact Dr. Stephen doCarmo, Honors@Bucks program coordinator.
