  Admissions  —  International Students

Bucks is the smart start.

Bucks County Community College offers you a unique opportunity to begin your academic career in a welcoming community of scholars and professionals while developing the foundation for your future education.

Legal Permanent Residents - Those students who are legal permanent residents, in immigrant status, need only supply a copy of their government documentation, such as a green card or other document which proves their legal status. This can be scanned and emailed to apply@bucks.edu.

Students wishing to study under the F-1 Visa - Please read through the Next Steps directions from this site.

F-1 Guest Students - Those students holding an F-1 Visa from another institution and seeking to enroll in a Bucks course should first apply to the college using the F-1 International Guest Application. Next, send a copy of your visa, and unless enrolling in a summer course, request an email stating approval from their international advisor be sent to international@bucks.edu.  If enrolling in an online course, also submit the International Disclaimer.

J-1 Au Pair Students - Bucks County Community College offers au pairs an opportunity to fulfill their visa educational requirement by enrolling in non-credit classes. Learn more about Continuing Education.

Transferring from Bucks

The community college model is a unique arrangement that allows you to complete your university degree at a fraction of the traditional cost. Here's how it works.

1.

ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE

When you study at Bucks for your first two years, you will complete an Associate's Degree. With our state of the art facilities and an incredible range of majors, your Bucks foundation will prepare you perfectly for your next step.

2.

TRANSFER

Once you have your Associate’s Degree, you can enroll at any four-year college or university, and receive credit for the two years you’ve already studied at Bucks. You’ll be on your way to your goal on your first day of class.

3.

BACHELOR’S DEGREE

Once at the four-year institution of your choice, you typically can complete your Bachelor’s Degree in only two more years. Because your credits have transferred, your degree will bear the insignia of the four-year university.

Bucks has a variety of TRANSFER PROGRAMS

We have built our network of transfer agreements tirelessly, ensuring that our students gain the most value possible from their time at Bucks.

For many of our preferred transfer schools, not only will Bucks students get 100% equivalent credit for every course they have taken, but the final two years of their bachelor’s program will be discounted as well.

Tax Information

Even if no money was earned in the past year, F-1 students are required to file a tax return with the IRS.

Next Steps & Application

If you are ready to begin your Bucks application process, these are your next steps.

This information is intended for foreign nationals seeking an F-1 visa.  Other non-US citizens, legally in the United States as permanent residents, asylees, or other-visa holders, should send a copy of their issued documents when applying for consideration of tuition rate.  Note that all visa holders, those in non-immigrant status, are not eligible for in-county/state tuition.  Documents can be scanned and emailed to apply@bucks.edu or copies can be delivered to any campus.
