Curriculum

The Nurse Aide Training Program offers students 130-hours of instruction and hands-on clinical experiences at a long-term care facility.  At the clinical facility, students have an opportunity to practice the skills that they learned in the classroom and skills lab.

Introduction to Health Care Role of the Nurse Aide Communication Skills Infection Control Body Systems Safety and Emergency Procedures Resident Rights, Independence and Environment Use of Protective Devices and Restraint Alternatives Behavioral Health and Social Service Needs

Personal Care Skills Basic Nursing Skills Ethics Types of Abuse, Abuse Prevention and Reporting Nutrition Body Mechanics, Lifting and Transferring Rehabilitative and Restorative Care Caring for the Cognitively Impaired Resident Caring for the Dying Resident
