What is Academic Advising?
Academic Advising is a process where students and faculty advisors from the student’s academic discipline discuss appropriate course selections and future educational plans. Discussion may include the curriculum, policies, procedures, transferability of skills and knowledge, academic success strategies, progress toward the degree, career objectives and transfer planning
What is Priority Advising?
Priority Advising is a five-week period beginning Monday, April 9th during which time current students are encouraged to meet with faculty advisors in your academic discipline.
During this advising session, you and your advisor will review summer and/or fall course selections and degree requirements. Also, check your student Bucksmail after March 30, 2012 for detailed information about fall 2012 Priority Advising and Registration.
You may be a student who is best advised by the staff of Developmental Reading, English as a Second Language, KEYS or disAbility Services. If so, please continue to work with these faculty and staff for advising.

How can I prepare for Academic Advising?
Access and have a copy of your Program Evaluation readily available. Instructions for accessing the Program Evaluation From Web Advisor.
Print out and use a sample registration form to draft a proposed schedule of courses. Discuss these course selections with your advisor.
