Department of Social and Behavioral Science

The Department of Social and Behavioral Science offers courses in: Criminal Justice, Economics, Education, Fire Science, Geography, History, Historic Preservation, Humanities, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Social Services.

The Department offers Transfer Programs of Study leading to an AA Degree in the following areas:

Criminal Justice
Liberal Arts: American Studies
Liberal Arts: Psychology Pre-Professional Emphasis
Liberal Arts: Psychology – Interpersonal Emphasis
Liberal Arts: Social Science Emphasis
Education: Pre K-4 Early Education
Secondary Education: History
Social Services

The Department offers Occupational Programs of Study leading to an AA in the following areas:

Education: Early Childhood Education Pre-K-4
Education: Paraprofessional Instructional Assistant
Fire Science

The Department also offers a Certificate in Historic Preservation. This award-winning program is the only community college certificate program in Historic Preservation in the nation.
