The Bucks advising team is here to help you navigate your academic journey. Be it course selections, connecting to the right College resources, or transfer-related questions, your advisor has you covered.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to avoid extended wait times. Please check in at least 30 minutes before the posted end time to be seen. Students are assisted on a first-come, first-served basis.

In order to register for courses you must meet with an academic advisor. Before you schedule an appointment, review the Advising Checklist to ensure you're ready to be seen.

Meeting with an Advisor

Meet with your assigned faculty advisor between Oct. 15 and Jan. 20. Your advisor may not be available outside of this period.

Returning Student

If you are returning to Bucks after more than a year hiatus, you are a returning student. First, reactivate your account. Please allow up to 2 business days for processing. Once this step is complete, you can schedule an advising appointment. Before your appointment, we highly recommend that you consider your payment options.

Guest Student

Guest students do not need to meet with an advisor, though are welcome to speak with a team member. For registration assistance, contact the Registrar’s Office at 215 968-8100 or email registrar@bucks.edu.

Before You See an Academic Advisor

To meet with an academic advisor, you must first:

  1. Apply to Bucks — it’s free!
  2. Have access to your Bucks student account.
  3. Send all official transcripts to waivers@bucks.edu for review.
  4. Complete placement exams, unless you’ve been waived.
  5. Be ready with your payment options.

Not all programs are eligible for general advising. Some are assigned to a special advisor. Please check if your program qualifies: Review program exceptions.

Program Exceptions

The following majors and certificates are assigned to a special advisor and are not eligible for drop-in advising. Please contact the program representative for advising assistance.

  • Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry Arts & Hospitality Management – Contact Chef John Angeline at john.angeline@bucks.edu or call 215-504-8541.
  • Fire Science – Contact Rob Freese at earl.freese@bucks.edu or call 215-968-8190.
  • Paralegal/Legal Studies & Technical Entrepreneurship – Contact Prof. Heather Costello at heather.costello@bucks.edu or call 215-968-8283. You may also attend an information session to learn more about the paralegal/legal studies program.
  • Specific Arts & Communication Majors- Art and Art History, Dance, Film, Photography & Digital Arts, Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Music students contact arts.comm@bucks.edu or call 215-968-8425.
    • Outside of the Faculty Advising period, the Advising Center will see new Theater Arts, and Communication Studies majors. Current students, and all other areas, please contact the School of Arts & Communication at arts.comm@bucks.edu or call 215-968-8425.

When can I meet with an advisor?

Meeting with an academic advisor is one of the final steps to registering at Bucks. Before you make an appointment, you must:

  1. Have access to your Bucks Student Account.
  2. Complete all placement tests and/or receive a waiver.

We strongly encourage all students to complete the FAFSA. Payment is due at the time of registration. Payment plans are available.

If you would like a parent/guardian to join your session, please first add them as a proxy.

Can I change my advisor?

If you wish to be seen by a different academic advisor than your currently assigned advisor, you may submit an Advisor Change Request for review.

Are there courses with zero textbook costs (ZTC)?

Yes, we have over 140 classes that utilize free alternative resources to costly textbooks. You can review those zero textbook costs (ZTC) courses at any time for future semester course planning!
