This course highlights management principles appropriate for e-commerce companies. The course reviews the differences among the emerging technologies and related matters. An understanding of the company for on-going administration, customer service, telemarketing and order filling will be developed. The concepts of e-law and ethics will be explored. -

Learning Goals:
E Planning and Management is a first level college course introducing the basic concepts of the new emerging business in e-commerce. At the completion of the course, the student will:- Understand the role of e-commerce in the economy.
- Have a clear understanding of the relationship of management principles as they apply to an e-commerce organization.
- Understand the structure of an e-commerce business.
- Discuss the ethics of this new technology.
- Develop the customer service and fulfillment issues inherent in ecommerce.
- Understand the customer-side perceptions of e-commerce.
- Recognize the business challenges and partnerships that must be developed in order for an e-commerce business to succeed.
- Understand the position of e-commerce organizations in the global economy.

- Discuss the business challenges of the new economy.
- Explore the ethics and e-law dimensions of e-commerce.
- Discuss the overall new technology and new economy that the Internet has generated.
- Explain the characteristics of the new economy and new entrepreneur.
- Highlight basic management principles that are appropriate for the e-commerce and .com companies.
- Develop a planning process for developing a web site.
- Discuss the concept of a business firm in e-commerce, as well as the purpose of the firm's web site.
- Explain customer service, telemarketing, and the fulfillment issues of inventory, order processing, invoicing, and shipping.
- Explain the customer perceptions towards e-commerce.
- Discuss the marketing issues of middlemen, pricing, and profit.
- Discuss and explain the B2B(business to business), B2C (business to consumer), C2C (consumer to consumer), B2E(business to employee) web sites.
- Discuss P2P- path to profitability, one of the most important issues and least developed by the new e-commerce mentality.
- Explain the partnerships that need to be developed for ecommerce.
- Develop an overall strategy to create a distinctive advantage and . set an e-commerce business apart from others.

Teaching Methods Employed
Teaching methods may include lecturing, case analysis, internet activities using the computer and selected web sites to illustrate good and poor examples of E-commerce, teamwork, and class discussion.
