This 270-hour on-line certificate program is designed to provide experienced medical billers and coders a review in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Disease Processes and Pharmacology to prepare for the transition to ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS. After completion of training, the participant will receive a Bucks County Community College certificate of completion and 21 CEU’s.
Required Courses
This medical terminology course is designed for current medical billers and coders in hospitals and doctor’s offices. This course is designed to provide the student an understanding of the “language” used in the medical field with emphasis on the special terminology used in medical billing and coding. Anatomical descriptive terms, names of tissues, organ systems, and the disease processes that are related to each body system will be included.

This course will provide medical billers and coders with knowledge of the structure and function of the human body. Included in the course content will be general and specific nomenclature, anatomical names and terms, and topographical anatomy. All organs and systems will be included.

This course is designed to provide current medical billers and coders with diseases related to medical-surgical diseases and injury. Human diseases, symptoms, diagnosis and treatments are the primary focus. The various modalities used to demonstrate pathologies are also included.

This course is designed to introduce current medical biller and coders to pharmacologic principles. The course will address the actions, uses, side effects, and implications of classifications of medications related to specific body systems.
