Practical Nursing
Train for a Career as a Licensed Practical Nurse
The Practical Nursing program at Bucks County Community College combines classroom learning with hands-on clinical experience. This full-time, 12-month program helps you build the skills you need to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and enter a high-demand health care field.
The program runs Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and begins each July. It is a noncredit certificate program. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
To graduate, you must complete all required courses. After you finish the program, you will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to take the NCLEX.
Courses from other institutions do not transfer into this program.
To be considered for admission, you must have a high school diploma or GED. There are no course prerequisites.
With National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) pass rates above the national average, the program is in good standing with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
What you’ll gain
- Knowledge and skills to take the NCLEX
- Preparation to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN)
- Experience in diverse clinical settings
This program also provides a strong foundation if you choose to continue your education toward an associate degree in nursing and become a registered nurse (RN).
