Bucks Partners with Omega Zeta Omega Chapter to Host HBCU Info Fair
The event, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat. Oct. 1 at the Epstein Campus, features a chance to connect with historically black colleges and universities
The Omega Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, in collaboration with Bucks County Community College, will host the fifth annual information fair for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HCBUs) Saturday, October 1 at the Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks.
The free event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the campus at 1304 Veterans Highway, Bristol, Pa. Attendees can meet current HBCU students who’ll share what to expect when attending an HBCU, learn about financial aid, visit with admissions representatives, and more. There will also be panel discussions, guest speakers, workshops, games, prizes, and food.
HBCUs have been the cornerstone of the African American community for centuries. Before the Civil Rights movement, HBCUs offered African Americans one of their only routes to higher education, helping them pursue professional careers, earn graduate degrees, and advance their education in an inclusive environment.
Omega Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is committed to the sustainability and awareness of HBCUs. Its goal is to expose and educate students, parents, and community leaders in Bucks County and surrounding areas about the historical perspective and amazing benefits of attending these great institutions of higher learning.
