- VI. Catalog Course Description
- This course develops the foundation for independence, social/life skills and academic/study strategies at the college level for students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and registered with The Accessibility Office, exploring the transition to college from their unique perspective.

Course Learning Goals
Students will:
- demonstrate an understanding of the transition process from the higher education perspective from high school, the need for social skills through communication and participation in the college community, and the expected adult behaviors in the college and employment settings;
- demonstrate an understanding of personal responsibilities in the home and academic environments, including how to manage time and stress in addition to preparing for activities, life, academic and career goals; and
- demonstrate an understanding of ASD from a personal, neuro-a-typical perspective and the perception of ASD that facilitates their integration into the community.
