Dear Fellow Traveler

Come along for some exciting day trips. We will explore the neighborhoods and museums, markets and murals...and much more. We design these trips to be stimulating, lively and fun.

For 15 years we have been building bridges for our students as we take college education into the real world. We are especially pleased when our young students report on their eye-opening experiences. Our efforts have been recognized as the "finest social history tour program" of any college in the Philadelphia area.

We are thrilled with our spring schedule with ten brand new trips. We've scheduled blockbusters like Ellis Island, The National Gallery of Art, the Met and MoMA. Closer to home we'll be touring the special Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and, by popular demand, we'll be returning to the Barnes Foundation to see the world-class collection before its planned move to the Parkway.

We're also running many of our Philly favorites, such as the Fairmount Waterworks, Mural tours and Ben Franklin strolls. For enjoyable springtime walks, we've scheduled tours of Old City, Chestnut Street and Central Park. For the more daring, we propose a guided walk up and over the Ben Franklin Bridge. Bring your camera!

We are proud of our off-the-beaten-track journeys which take us to the working class neighborhoods of Little Puerto Rico, the Italian Market and the Bronx. And for real eye-openers we'll go into cells at Eastern State Penitentiary and talk to lifers at Graterford prison. What an experience!

In early April we'll return to Washington for our Nation's Capitol program, including a visit with Congressman Patrick Murphy. And if our timing is right, the cherry blossoms will be in bloom.

Despite the high cost of our first-class motor coaches, we have kept ticket prices low and are able to continue our discount policy. Prices listed in this public mailing have been set to enable us to give our students a $10 discount on all trips. We hope our loyal non-student travelers understand this pricing policy. Since BCCC is indeed the community's college, we continue to welcome everybody aboard.

For administering and conducting the trips, we especially thank John Petito, Social Science chair, Matt Cipriano, Director of Student Life and Eileen Derby, trip co-ordinator.

Ready to go!

Sincerely,

Arianna Horn, President and Tony Wolf, Tour Director
