Glass Sale |
|
As part of our club community service project we hold a glass sale and donate half the proceeds to a charity. The glass sold is made by the students of the glassblowing class. The charity is chosen, by the members of the Glass Arts Society of BCCC, at the beginning of the semesters. Our Glass Arts Society is open to suggestions of worthwhile charities and proposals can be sent to carterk@bucks.edu . In the spring of 2000, we donated to CERF (craft emergency relief fund) and Sunny Crest. For the Spring 2001 semester, we donated money to CERF and CGP (Contemporary Glass of Philadelphia). CERF provides craft artists with assistance in case of an emergency. Sunny Crest is a Personal Care Home that provides care for both physically and develop-mentally disabled over the age of eighteen. ...While the other half of the money goes to improving our studio. SPRING 2002 WE ARE CURRENTLY HAVING A CLOTHING DRIVE UNTIL MARCH 31ST. (CLEAN) CLOTHES MAY BE DROPPED OFF TO THE SLIC OFFICE LOCATED WITHIN THE STUDENT UNION BUILDING. STARTING APRIL 1ST THROUGH THE 18TH WE WILL BE CONDUCTING A THRIFT SHOP... $$$ WILL GO TOWARDS CHARITY! WE WILL BE WORKING WITH PARTICIPATING CLUBS. OUR GLASS SALE WILL BE CONDUCTED AT THIS TIME.
