MORE PITCAIRN PLACES

The highest point (1,100') is on Palva Valley Ridge.

Palva Valley Ridge leads to Garnet's Ridge ending at 900' high "Look Out! Peak." Here my barefoot friend, Timothy ("The Tour Guide from Hell") leads me to a terrifying view point. From here you can see Adamstown, St. Paul's Rock and (far right) Ship Landing Point.

Tiny, Scenic Water Valley is at the west end below Tedside.

On a rare day when the sea is calm, islanders like to go "rock fishing." Here we are on the south coast at Gudgeon Harbor below Ginger Valley. Crabs are speared for bait. Then lines are thrown out for fish.

The Government Administration Offices are on the little town square in Adamstown. In front is one of the anchors and a small swivel canon salvaged from H.M.S. Bounty.

Near by is the Burial Ground where deceased islanders and several visitors to Pitcairn rest in peace.

All visitors who are fortunate enough to visit are entitled to "bragging rights!!" The shirt reads, "PITCAIRN ISLAND I'VE BEEN THERE!"
