College Honors Bucks County Foundation by Dedicating Lecture Hall

Charitable organization has awarded more than $800,000 to more than 1,000 students through its Happ-Grover fund

  

Bucks County Community College recently dedicated one of its lecture halls at the Newtown Campus in honor of the Bucks County Foundation for its continuing support of the college.

Over the past 25 years, the Bucks County Foundation awarded more than $800,000 in scholarships to benefit more than 1,000 BCCC students through its Happ-Grover Fund.  The scholarship fund provides aid to financially needy students from the Central Bucks School District.

Presenting Lecture Hall Plaque to Bucks County Foundation“We are extremely grateful to the Bucks County Foundation for taking away the financial hardship of attending college for many of our students,” said Tobias Bruhn, Executive Director of the BCCC Foundation, which administers scholarships at the college. “Especially in this economy, affordable higher education is on the mind of many Bucks County families.”

“The Bucks County Foundation looks forward to continuing our relationship with BCCC for at least the next 25 years," added Grace Deon, Esq., president of the nonprofit group’s distribution committee.

The Bucks County Foundation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents of the county by stimulating philanthropic opportunity and developing long-term financial assets to meet a wide range of the community’s financial needs.

Founded in 1964, Bucks County Community College is a public, two-year college that provides a wide range of educational opportunities at campuses in Newtown, Bristol, and Perkasie, Pa. The BCCC Foundation was established in 1982 as a nonprofit, 501(c) (3) educational trust to provide expanded resources for the college’s growth and development. Foundation funds support instructional resources, campus facilities, scholarships and awards, cultural activities and special college projects.
