The Grainger Foundation has donated $11,000 to Bucks County Community College to provide scholarship assistance to students enrolled in its Emergency Management, Public Safety, and Fire Science/Investigation programs.
“Grainger is proud to support Bucks County Community College and the vital skills its programs provide to future fire service and public safety professionals,” said Richard Smith, manager of Grainger’s branch in Warminster. “The education and training these programs offer help to save lives in the community and we are honored to play a role in preparing professionals for rewarding careers in this field.”
These scholarships were established to assist Pennsylvania’s emergency response community with the cost of college tuition and books, and to prepare them for leadership positions while providing local communities with critical public service duties. Bucks is among the top five accredited agencies in the U.S. in the number of certification programs offered to emergency responders.
“With the increasing demand for trained public safety professionals, it is essential that we continue to invest in their talent, and through these scholarships, Grainger is doing just that,” said Dr. James J. Linksz, BCCC President. “Our partnership with Grainger is an asset to our students.”
The Grainger branch in Warminster has been serving the local community since 1988 and is committed to helping the communities in which its employees and customers live and work.
Local businesses have relied on Grainger for more than 70 years, since the company’s founder, Bill Grainger, built the company's first branch outside of its Chicago headquarters in Philadelphia in 1933.
