Training & Certification FAQ'S
Q. How do I get my certificate?
A. For most classes you
will receive a Pennsylvania State Fire Academy certificate upon
successful completion of the course. You will receive the certificate
in class or it will be mailed to you. If you take a certification
exam (written and practical skills) and pass, you will receive a
certificate carrying a round, gold, numbered IFSAC seal attesting
to your certification or a numbered ProBoard seal.
Q. I lost my certificates. Can you send me copies?
A. No. We do not have
copies. We can send you a transcript showing the classes you have
taken. If you have lost a certificate from a Pro Board or IFSAC
Certification exam, these can be replaced, however there is a replacement
fee. Call the Center at 215.340.8417 or send email to hatrakm@bucks.edu
for more information on transcripts or certificates.

A. Call the Center at 215.340.8417
or send email to hatrakm@bucks.edu

Q. Can I receive IFSAC certification with out taking a test?
A. Only if you hold an
NPQS (Pro Board) or IFSAC certification in the same discipline and
at the same level.
Q. I am a Training Officer or Chief Officer and I want to hold a class for my department. How can I request a class at my station?
A. Select the class you would like to hold, fill out a course request form, and mail the form to us at Bucks County Public Safety Training Center, 1760 S. Easton Rd., Doylestown, PA 18901, or fax it to the Center at 215.343.6794.
Q. What is this IFSAC and Pro-Board certification all about anyway?
A. The International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and National Professional Qualifications Board (Pro Board) are independent organizations that examine and accredit training and testing agencies. What this means is that an outside, independent source has examined our tests and testing processes and determined that our test can accurately examine candidates on each aspect of a standard, such as NFPA 1001. Your successful completion of the certification exam means that you will receive a certificate and be registered with IFSAC and/or Pro Board as having demonstrated your competency in that discipline.
Q. I would like to talk to someone about certification and testing, who should I call?
A. Contact the Center at 215.340.8417 and we will assist you.
