Class Life
rule

Many variables come into play when developing a distance learning course. For example, some instructors are more comfortable with technology than others. Some courses lend themselves to vigorous online discussions. Other courses are skills-based and students benefit most by independent work. Some courses can be offered campus-free, never requiring a student to come to campus. Others, such as speech class, require several mandatory campus meetings for delivery of speeches. There is no one single set way that all distance learning courses can be offered.

How does this help you to decide if distance learning is right for you? First, you need to consider your attitude in general towards distance learning.

Take the "Is Distance Learning For Me" quiz to see how you match up.

Take the "Technical Readiness" Quiz to see if you are prepared for an online distance learning course.

Student Quote
Distant learning is at my pace. All the materials and resources are at my finger tips and I don't have to leave the comfort of my home, except to take testing, which is less hectic for me. I have grown to enjoy distant learning courses and look at them first to see what I can take, if I can't find them distant learning, I then take them on campus as a last resort.
