Advising
Advising can be as simple
as receiving valuable guidance regarding which
courses to take when. Or it can be more complex,
offering direction in choosing career and academic
goals.
The advising information below
is of most benefit to students that are fairly
sure of or have already set their educational
goal.

Before meeting with
an advisor it is helpful to
- have taken any
Assessment tests
- be familiar with
the BCCC college catalog (available online
or in hard copy format)
- have a good idea
of what time you will have available to
devote to your studies for the upcoming
semester

New Student Advising
- The New Student Advising/Registration
Program is a face-to-face
advising opportunity for full and part-time
students. You will receive an invitation in
the mail.
- Advising Specialists
- a complete listing of
Advising
specialists is available. Each of these
individuals represents an academic department
and can provide guidance in the successful completion
of your degree, certificate, or transfer program.
Feel free to contact the Advising Specialist
in the department for your major.
- LLEAP Advisors
will advise those students
who are working with the LLEAP
(Life Learning Experience Assessment Program)
office.
- Counselors -
Professional Counselors are available to help
distance learning students cope with concerns
about education, career, and personal lives.
In addition, counselors help you with course
and career planning. In-person appointments
may be made or you may contact
counselors via email or phone.
- The Office of Multicultural
Student Services works
closely with International Students to advise
them of the appropriate courses to register
for. For more information, contact Marlene Barlow
at barlowm@bucks.edu
or 215-968-8107.
- Advising on the day
you register -
if you register during any of the college's
walk-in registration periods, advisors are available
to you on that day. However, it is strongly
recommended that you speak with an advisor prior
to that day.
Advising for Subsequent
Semesters - All students
are assigned an Academic Advisor. You will receive
the name of your Advisor with your mid-term grades.
You may choose to contact your specific advisor,
or utilize one of the methods listed above.
Visit the Advising
section of the BCCCC website for detailed advising
information and a handy advising
FAQ.
