Overview
Since its inception in 1994, the goal of BCCC's Online Learning
program has been to deliver
an affordable education and quality instruction
in a flexible and convenient manner - learning
anytime, anywhere. To reach that goal, over 200 eLearning and hybrid courses have been developed.
eLearning and Hybrid
students are required to learn the same
material as face-to-face students do, but
eLearning and Hybrid students do not learn
by sitting in a classroom and listening
to an instructor's lecture. Students learn
by:
- spending the time
and the effort needed to read all resource
materials, such as textbooks and study
guides, and interacting with course materials found on CDs, DVDs, and online
- watching any required
videos
- completing any
written assignments - sometimes done individually and sometimes done in groups
- participating
in online discussions with
their instructor and classmates
- satisfactorily
completing any examinations.
In eLearning courses, students and instructors
may not even meet face-to-face, but they do interact regularly with
one another through
the Internet. Hybrid courses do require some face-to-face meetings, but at least 50% of the course work is completed online.

Online
Learning classes are convenient
for those with busy schedules.
I’ve taken numerous courses
and feel quite confident that
I received the same benefits as
with a traditional class setting.
