Audio Welcome Message: Distance
Learning
If you are looking for a way
to begin, continue, or accelerate your education and
you need to fit college into your schedule and the demands
of your life, then Distance Learning is an educational
option well worth exploring.
People enroll in distance courses
for a variety of reasons. Job and family responsibilities
can make it difficult for some to attend regularly scheduled
on-campus classes. Traveling to a campus can be either
inconvenient or not feasible. Leaving children with
babysitters and spending time commuting is not how parents
want to use their limited family time.
You have probably heard the term
"Distance Learning", but knowing what that term actually
means might not exactly be clear to you. Does it mean
taking a course over the Internet, or using videotapes,
or does it involve teleconferencing? What exactly does
Bucks County Community College consider Distance Learning?
The answer to that question and
others can be found in this segment of the Distance
Learning Orientation Guide. Take some time to consider
the information found here, take the "Is Distance Learning
For Me?" quiz. If you still have questions, feel free
to contact the Distance Learning office for further
help.
