Enrich Your Child’s Summer with ‘Kids on Campus’ Day Camps
Visit an open house March 15 to learn about more than 160 programs available June 23 to August 15; Register by April 1 for early-bird discount on nationally accredited day camps.
The open house, which takes place from 10 a.m. to noon in rooms 202-203 of the Allied Health Building, is a chance to learn about the more than 160 programs for children ages five years to teens. Parents and kids can meet instructors and camp leaders, sample activities, and ask questions.
Registration is now open for the popular day camps, all of which have an educational component. Topics range from athletics and sports, to crafts and academics. New camps include Video Production, Introduction to Model Railroading, Volleyball Academy, and Junior Lifeguarding.
Other popular programs are back, such as Kid Kuisine (pictured, above right), Mountain Biking and Disc Golf (pictured, left), Lego Animation (pictured, below right), Totally Skateboard, and Beginner’s Lacrosse.
Kids on Campus is nationally accredited by the American Camp Association. ACA accreditation verifies that a camp has complied with up to 300 standards for health, safety, and program quality. It assures parents that the camp has had a regular, independent safety audit that goes beyond regulations in most states. As part of the accreditation process, the ACA collaborates with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other agencies to assure that practices reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation.
Camps are held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Newtown campus, located at 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown. Most are one week in length, giving a family the freedom to choose among many programs yet still have time for a family vacation. In cooperation with the Tri-Hampton YMCA, before- and after-camp care is available for an additional charge.
An early-bird 10% discount is available if a registration is paid in full by April 1 and made by fax, phone, or U.S. mail. Web registration is also available. A few scholarships are available with an application deadline of March 28. A complete camp calendar and registration information is at the Kids on Campus web page. To register, call 215-968-8409.
