‌Lawton (pictured, right) is known for his facility with both traditionally rooted jazz forms and free improvisation.

Each performs extensively at jazz festivals, concert venues and clubs.

The master class takes place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The concert gets underway at 7:30 p.m. Both events take place in the Presser Music Room in the Music and Multimedia Center on the campus at 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown, Pa., where there is ample free parking.
