Adults Considering College are Invited to a Free Information Session

Visit the Newtown campus at 6 p.m. Oct. 30, or by appointment at your convenience, to learn more about what Bucks offers.

Bucks County Community College invites adults considering college to a free information session at the Newtown campus. The sessions are held from 6 to 7 p.m. on the last Wednesday of every month, with the next event on October 30.

Whether you’ve thought about it for a long time or are just considering it, going to college can be daunting,” said Marlene Barlow, Director of Admissions at Bucks.  “These Information Sessions are designed to outline the simple steps to getting started or going back to school, and to help alleviate any reservations about ‘taking the plunge.’”

Many services are available to help adult students make the adjustment, Barlow added.

“Hear how others like yourself who may be seeking job advancement, career change, or returning to the workforce can take advantage of the opportunities Bucks affords,” she added.

Bucks is a public college with an open admissions policy that offers nearly 80 programs of study leading to either a two-year associate degree or a shorter-term certificate. Courses are offered at convenient times and locations – the original campus in Newtown, the Lower Bucks Campus in Bristol, the Upper Bucks Campus in Perkasie, and online through the “Virtual Campus.” Tuition is only $123 a credit for Bucks County residents.

The next adult-student information session takes place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, in the Admissions Office, located in the lower level of the new Linksz Pavilion. The campus is located at 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown, Pa., 18940.  Each session lasts about an hour. Individual appointments are also available (due to the holidays, November and December sessions will be by appointment only). To learn more, call 215-968-8419, or email
