Republic Bank Donates $10,000 to Support Artmobile, Kids on Campus
The donation, part of a program to earn state tax credits by supporting K-12 education, will benefit youth programs offered by the college.
Republic Bank has donated $10,000 to help Bucks County Community College offer educational programs for schoolchildren, ranging from Kids on Campus summer day camps to its Artmobile traveling outreach museum. The programs provide learning opportunities for more than 20,000 students from Kindergarten through high school each year.
The Philadelphia-based bank, with locations throughout Southeast Pennsylvania and New Jersey, made the contribution as part of Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. Under the program, companies that make an EITC donation to a nonprofit scholarship or educational improvement organization receive a 75% tax credit from the state, which increases to 90% if the company makes the same donation for two consecutive years. A business can receive up to $300,000 a year in Pennsylvania tax credits by participating in the program.
“Republic Bank is committed to supporting the communities we serve,” said Jason C. Greer, regional manager and vice president at Republic Bank. “By donating to Bucks County Community College, we can positively impact the lives of many children, enabling them to have experiences they otherwise would not have. Educating our youth is one of the best investments we can make to ensure a better future.”
The donation is greatly needed, college officials noted.
“We are so appreciative of Republic Bank’s generosity,” said Gail Acosta of the BCCC Foundation. “In economic times like this, partner organizations like Republic Bank allow us to continue to deliver and grow our innovative educational children’s programs to better serve the Bucks County community.”
