Save Money, Earn College Credits Quickly During Intersession

County residents pay only $99 a credit for classes December 28 – January 13, then can transfer credits back to a ‘home’ college or university

College students can make the most of winter break – and save a tidy sum on tuition –  by earning up to six credits in just 11 class meetings during Intersession at Bucks County Community College. Registration is underway for classes beginning Monday, December 28 and ending Wednesday, January 13 (no classes December 31 or January 1).

Bucks is one of the only colleges in the Philadelphia region offering the highly concentrated academic term. It’s the perfect way to catch up on required courses, get ahead for the spring semester, or retake a course from the fall. There are 25 courses offered, including Basic Human Anatomy, Macro Economics, Micro Economics, 20th Century America and Nutrition.

Most courses are offered completely online, allowing students to study from home. Others meet Monday through Friday mornings at the Newtown campus, located at 275 Swamp Road.

What’s more, credits easily transfer to most four-year colleges and universities, enabling students to work toward their degrees at a lower tuition rate – just $99 a credit for Bucks County residents – and transfer credits back to their home school. Students with a satisfactory academic standing can take up to two courses during Intersession.

Students can view a list of Intersession courses and register online at www.bucks.edu/admission/register. In addition, the Spring 2010 Credit Courses brochure mailed to each Bucks County household in late November lists Intersession courses and has a mail-in registration form. Registration must be completed by December 23.  For more information, call 215-968-8100 or e-mail admissions@bucks.edu.
