Panel discussion with Arthur Ganson & Chris Vecchio
The "Tinguely's Children" exhibition features the work of three contemporary artists who make lyrical, machine-inspired sculpture: Arthur Ganson of Stoneham, MA; Chris Vecchio of Philadelphia, PA; and Mark Zirpel of Seattle, WA. Though fiercely individualistic, together their work can be understood and appreciated from a steam-punk aesthetic, as well as in the context and lineage of modernist artists such as Jean Tinguely. Much of this work functions as a form of social commentary, as well as a personal and poetic statement.
